Every Athlete Does This…
I know this will sound like a pitch, but it’s not.
This is just a TRUE OBSERVATION:
I’ve been in the health and fitness business since 1989… and an athlete (skiing) and fitness enthusiast all my life.
During my career, I’ve worked with professional athletes, fitness trainers and team coaches as well as enlightened medical professionals, physical therapists and chiropractors – all of whom are focused on sports and athletics.
In fact, in 1991 our company was retained by the Miami Dolphins to assist their players and coaching staff with optimized nutrition and meal planning.
In all of this time, I have NEVER met an athlete who did not incorporate nutritional supplements into his or her menu plans.
Not once!
And, across the board, among thousands of athletes across all different sports, supplementation has always been about RECOVERY.
Yet, throughout my years working with personal trainers, health clubs and fitness studios it continues to be amazing how many of these businesses still do NOT OFFER nutritional supplements to their clients and members.
Oh… I’ve heard all the reasons why…
“I only want my clients eating clean foods” or,
“I don’t want to appear as a snake oil salesman” or,
“My insurance company says…” (READ THIS)
Food Awareness…
Have you been aware of the uptick in nutritional awareness, lately?
Love him or hate him, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has shed the light on how deficient and ugly our food supply has become with Ultra Processed Foods (UPFs) as it relates to chronic illness and the obesity epidemic.
People are beginning to ask a lot of questions about food quality and safety.
This spells OPPORTUNITY for you.
“But, My Doctor Says….”
When I owned our nutrition and lifestyle business (MediCorp), I must have heard this statement a thousand times:
“My doctor says I don’t need vitamins and that I can get enough from foods, alone.”
My response was alway this:
“Have you taken a good look at your doctor?”
Nine times out of ten, their doctors were de-conditioned and overweight, themselves.
Medical doctors receive less than 3 hours of nutritional training during their schooling and internships.
For the most part, they are technicians with almost no skills or expertise in preventive health.
So, as HEALTH PROFESSIONALS… we are the most qualified.
Shouldn’t we be speaking out and making recommendations regarding the 3Ps —> Proper nutrition, Productive exercise and Positive mindset.
And, that includes nutritional supplements – especially among those who are competing or regularly exercising (adding physical stress to their bodies) — to offset the stripped down foods that most people consume – no matter how hard they try to eat clean.
At the very least, a recommendation to take some sort of Multi-Vitamin / Mineral complex to serve as minimal nutritional insurance!
The Good, the Bad and the Ugly
Yes, of course, there are a bunch of bad players in the supplement business.
But, frankly, if you conduct just a little due diligence by reading the ingredients and doing a little background check, you’ll find there are plenty of really good, high quality nutritional supplements available for resale.
And, yes, of course that includes our formulations, as well: CLICK or TAP HERE…
Will You Get Rich…?
Nope… most likely not.
In fact when I interview potential partners to carry our line, I tell them upfront, “If you’re only in it for the money, we won’t be good partners.”
Offering nutritional supplementation all about educating and helping your clients achieve the results for which they retained you in the first place.
If you offer a quality line of just a few nutritional supplements, you’ll start see better results with your clients as well as additional profits on your bottom line.
And, for some, it adds up month after month (typically $300 – $500) as recurring revenue. (Try our PROFIT CALCULATOR)
But, remember, this is just “supplemental income” with a true purpose for your clients and your business.
I hope you find this helpful.
