Back To The Future
Flashback!
It’s 2002 and I’m giving a “marketing” presentation at the IDEA conference in San Diego.
It’s a packed room full of 200+ energized entrepreneurs most of whom own small studios (today we call them “boutiques”)
I conclude the talk with this advice:
“Make it easy for clients and members to pay you by taking credit cards or by using this new computer service called PayPal.”
….Crickets!
You see, in 2002 most trainers and studios only accepted cash or check.
If they did accept credit cards, most often they used a “knuckle-buster” or had to call in the credit card number to “merchant services” at their bank… which took forever!
Of course, that’s all ancient history. Today’s clients EXPECT you to take all forms of electronic or digital payment.
And, you do!
Back to the Future
I feel the same way today when I consult, advise, recommend, suggest, harass all fitness professionals to create and display ONLINE CONTENT.
Most especially Online Exercises and Workouts.
All of the research points toward consumers EXPECTING to find this type of content online.
If you don’t have it, they will find it on YouTube… or, at a competitor’s website.
This is especially true of the niches, like sport specific training, weight management, senior fitness, police/fire training, etc.
Free Download
Even with physical locations, consumers have an EXPECTATION that you will accommodate them with online content and/or workouts when they can not make it to the facility.
Even a simple library of exercises that show how to perform common exercises is a step in the right direction.
To that end, here’s a sample download of our up and coming product called the “Exercise Reference Guide” with simple common exercises:
✅ PUSH
✅ PULL
✅ LEGS
✅ CORE
✅ RESISTANCE BANDS
It’s a .pdf file with links to video demonstrations. You can DOWNLOAD and try it yourself.
* NOTE: This is just a 5-page sample with only a few linked videos. The entire document is 25 pages.
The website version of this document will look like THIS. Details are coming soon.
What’s in Starbucks? FREE DOWNLOAD
I’ll admit, I enjoy a Starbucks coffee once in a while. Especially if I have a long drive. But, I just order black and throw in some honey and milk.
On the other hand, some of their offerings are nutritional insanity!!!
Just take a look at their 2024 Nutritional Information Guide.
It’s fun to print this out and take a highlighter to some of the more popular drinks so people can get a dose of reality.
Especially, since so many people (those who are counting calories) forget to enter their “coffee” info.
